Ildikó Palágyi's music is an exciting musical journey born from the
meeting of art-pop, jazz and live electronica. The genre diversity of her songs
is unified by emotional melodies, personal lyrics and improvisation that
captures the moment.
The singer and songwriter, who was born in the Highlands, originally
trained as a classical singer, later graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of
Music, majoring in jazz performance and then in teaching. In 2016, he was
invited to the Müpa Jazz Showcase festival, and since then he has been a
regular at Hungarian clubs and festivals, and has also given numerous concerts
abroad. The animated music video of his song "Northern Song" was
included in the competition programme of the Hungarian Klipszemle, and his
first Hungarian-language composition "Pillangó" competed in the show
"A Dal".
His latest EP, "Körbeér", which he premiered to a sold-out
audience at the Hungarian House of Music this spring, presents an intimate,
mysterious and surprising musical world. Ildikó's solo recitals feature her own
piano accompaniment and looper, and her compositions are sometimes ethereal,
sometimes psychedelic.
